I’m Mr. Wentzel, the founder of SJW SmartHomes. My love for technology, from gadgets to home automation, grew into a passion for solar energy and smart living, and that’s how this business came to life.
At heart, I’m a hands-on problem solver who believes in doing things right—whether I’m powering a home, a farm, or a business. As a registered electrical contractor, I bring both expertise and care to every project, ensuring it’s done safely, smartly, and built to last.
Outside of work, I’m an avid motorcyclist and have been a proud member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association for over 27 years. That same commitment carries over into everything I do, especially when it comes to my clients. For me, SJW SmartHomes isn’t just a business—it’s a way to help others live more sustainably, efficiently, and confidently.

Solar Installation
Jaco Wentzel installed a Sunsynk solar system in my home 10 months ago. Until today I am glad I had him to install it. It is still running 100% I know that I can contact him anytime when I need help, but all I needed to contact him thus far, was to install an additional battery when I had the funds for it. My generator does not get started anymore.
Ek sal enige tyd vir Jaco en sy span aanbeveel vir die oorskakelingna Sonkrag sisteem of as jy slegs bystand krag wil kry gedurende loadshedding. SJW is n vertroude installeerder deur Herholdts en doen baie netjiese werk.
Na baie oproepe en kwotasies by ander groot besighede, het ek Jaco gekontak en hy was enigtse een wat Logger gekoppel het en krag vir 48h wat ons werklike krag verbruik kon monitor en het daar volgens aanbeveling gemaak en kwotasie gestuur wat baie bilik was. Jaco het 2 besighede se Ondersteunende krag gedoen vir my asook my ouers se plaas volkome van die Grid afgehaal!!
Loadshedding is nie meer n uitdaging nie dankie Jaco!
My ervaring van Jaco, van dag een af, was dat hy iemand is met wie ek graag n pad sal wil stap.
Twee dinge het my van die begin af opgeval omtrent Jaco:
•Dat hy insig en kennis van sy vakgebied het.
• Dat hy eerlik is en iemand met integriteit.
• En dan laaste maar nie die minste …….. omdat my kennis en insig van panele, inverter en batterye baie swak is, is nasorg van uiterste belang, nasorgdiens is vir hom ook baie belangrik.
Ek sal Jaco ( SJW Smarthomes ) altyd met vrymoedigheid aanbeveel.
Jaco en sy span van SJW Smarthomes het vir ons solar behoeftes gesorg en ons kon nie vir beter diens en waarde vir geld gevra het nie.
Dis professioneel, netjies en reg gedoen van die begin af, daarom het ons baie min probleme tot dusvêr gehad. Sy naverkope diens en geduld om ons die nuwe sisteem te leer was regtig meer as waarvoor ons kon vra.
Ons sal Jaco enige tyd aanbeveel met ‘n geruste hart dat hy dieselfde puik diens vir al sy kliënte gee.
